Safe and sound

We have arrived in munich after about
14hours traveling. Super smooth flights! We
had a layover in Amsterdam. We decided to
go in and look around the town. We ended up
seeing some lovely countryside too because
we got on the wrong train;) but the people
were very helpful. Micah and I walked around
the city and saw all the neat bikes (even ones
that look like they have baby baskets they are
pushing) and canals. We had lunch at a nice
on a quiet canal by Ann franks house.
Munich is such a wonderful city! The people
are so kind, food is so good and it is clean!
I had my fav beer ever the Radler (lemon soda
mixed with light beer). Micah had a dunkle of course!
We walked our buts off yesterday. We even came upon
a fun festival with this guy singing and dancing (it looked
like something out of borat hopefully pix to come).
Our hotel is simple but very nice and close the train station
so we don't have to take to long to get andwhere. Today we
are going to the Residenz and then to the englischer garten
to relax. Tonight we take the night train to Lake Bled in Slovenia.
We used the iPod to book next booking! I was afraid the wifi
would not work because I could not get it to go in the
airports. But it works in the hotel yeah!!
I will be sad to leave Munich I love this town but I am excited
for Slovenia!

Getting Ready

Hello All,
Micah and I are headed on our trip to Eastern Europe and Turkey on Monday, June 28. We are flying from Dulles to Amsterdam to Munich (Germany). I can't wait for the yummy beer and sausages (I will be thinking of Alexa;) After about a day and half in Munich we plan on taking a train to Slovenia. The next country will be Croatia followed by Bosnia, Serbia, a bit of Bulgaria on the way to Turkey. Hopefully the map will allow you to really visualize where we are going (If you click on the map you will be able to look at it closer). We will be gone until July 30th.
We are now in the wild packing and double checking stage. Hopefully everything will get done!!
I can't wait but I will miss you all!
Love,
Sarah

Trying this out

Hello Friends,

So I am going to try this blogging thing out this summer. I have heard a lot about Blogs but I never really had a reason to use one before. But I think this blog business may work better than me just sending out e-mails to people. (I will probably send out some e-mails with the blog address throughout my trip). I also am probably not going to put much on Facebook while we are away to keep the house and the CATS safe from burglars!

My friend, Jennifer says I should be able to add photos and update easily. In the past I also had trouble because I was sending e-mails to so many people and sometimes the computers I was working on would not cooperate. Another bonus is that you will be able to comment on my posts. But still feel free to e-mail me if you have something private to say! You guys keep me from getting homesick (which is much harder for me than any physical sickness:)

So I am just going to be trying this out for right now.

We are not leaving until June 28th. But the tickets and guidebooks are bought. We need to get teacher travel hards
